Regular vehicle maintenance is necessary to keep your car running smoothly. While cars roll off the assembly lines brand new and ready to run, they start to age the moment they hit the road. Among other things, the engine oil starts to deteriorate, steering alignment goes off and the air-conditioning filter becomes clogged. When you bring your car to Perfect Power, our highly-trained mechanics will perform some or all of the following tasks:
Engine Oil Replacement
Engine oil is necessary to lubricate the engine parts, reduce the friction between the constantly-moving metal components and keeps the engine running smoothly. However, each start of the engine creates by-products from the additives which collect in the engine oil.
Over time, this reduces engine performance. At Perfect Power, we use 100% synthetic engine oil from leading brands to keep your engine running smoothly.
Wheel Alignment
Modern cars are equipped with power steering. Over months of navigating road humps and uneven surfaces, the car’s steering will be misaligned. If left unchecked, this may cause danger when the car is in motion and add to the wear and tear of the tyres.
We use an electronic alignment system that tunes your vehicle’s steering alignment back to where it should be.
Transmission Fluid Replacement
Like the engine, the gearbox houses delicate components that are in constant motion. It requires a lubricant to protect the metal gears and to ensure smooth transmission of power between them.
When you bring your car to Perfect Power for servicing, we use the appropriate gearbox oil rated for your car’s specific gearbox so your car continues to run smoothly.
Brake Fluid Replacement
Brake fluid is an essential component of the braking system. Most modern cars are fitted with hydraulic brakes on all four wheels, which can be drum or disc based. Glycol-ether based brake fluids are used in the braking system because they are able to move freely without being compressed, resulting in the correct transmission of pressure onto the brakes.
Safety problems arise when the moisture absorbed by the brake fluid gets heated up during braking. Because water has a lower boiling point than brake fluid, the trapped moisture turns into air bubbles, which undermine the efficiency of the brakes, potentially leading to accidents. During your servicing, we will replace the brake fluids to ensure optimal braking in your car.
Air-Conditioning Filter Replacement
Because air-conditioning filters absorb impurities in the air to allow the air-conditioners to function efficiently, they need to be replaced on a regular basis.
Replacing filters is an inexpensive but necessary step to allow your passengers and you to experience a cool and comfortable ride. It goes without saying that Perfect Power’s mechanics will choose the filter most appropriate for your car.
Battery Replacement
The car battery stores energy so that it can be used to power the lights, locking system and alarm in your car. It is also called into action when you ignite the engine. The battery needs to be constantly charged when the car is in motion.
A new battery lasts for about 12 to 36 months but the interval between replacements shortens if you have electronic appliances, such as a dashboard camera, installed. Perfect Power stocks a range of inexpensive batteries that will be suitable for your car.
Car Servicing Packages
Perfect Power offers several packages that correspond with different milestones of your car’s usage. Every 10,000km of driving requires basic servicing that includes some of the services described above, while hitting the 40,000km to 60,000km mark will need the car to be brought in for comprehensive servicing that includes more complicated services.

General Repair

Ignition System Diagnostics Repair/Replacement
If your engine has problems, such as power loss, rough idling or misfiring, it may have to do with the ignition system. This could be due to thick deposits that have accumulated on the spark plugs, malfunctioning of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve or other ignition-related problems.

Alarm & Security System Diagnostics/Replacement
Security is important to your beloved car and the last thing we want is for the alarm to not work when a security breach has happened. Neither do we want the intruder to start the engine or the central locking system to fail. Air-Conditioning System Diagnostics/Replacement
Occasionally, the air-conditioning falters. The cold air disappears and the car becomes unbelievably stuffy. When this happens, it could be that one of the two fans have stopped turning or some other fault has occurred.
